Terms of Service

1. Who operates the service
These Terms govern awkwardpixels.studio and related AwkwardPixels Studio experiences, features, and content (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Intrigued.me, LLC ("Intrigued.me," "we," "us," or "our"). AwkwardPixels™ Studio and Generally Awkward™ are brands and creative properties of Intrigued.me.
By accessing the Service, creating an account, submitting a message, or making a token tip, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Age requirement
The Service is intended for a general audience age 13 and older, primarily in the United States. You may not create an account or submit content if you are under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use interactive features only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Payments must be made by an adult who meets the payment provider's eligibility requirements and is authorized to use the payment method. Parental permission does not make a minor eligible to open a payment-provider account.
3. Entertainment and AI notice
The Service presents news summaries, articles, and entertainment involving fictional character performances, AI-assisted scripts, generated speech, and generated imagery. Winston and Asher are AI characters, not humans or licensed professionals. AI content may be incorrect, incomplete, or out of date. It is not professional, medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice, or a substitute for checking original reporting. Source links and publication or replay dates help identify the underlying reporting; opinions performed by the characters do not necessarily represent Intrigued.me, a publisher, or a person mentioned in a story.
Safety messages are supportive routing, not diagnosis, counseling, monitoring, or emergency response. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service.
4. Accounts and daily access
If sign-in is enabled, authentication is provided by a third party such as Google through Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. You are responsible for your account and for activity performed through it. Daily message limits, bonus messages, availability windows, and eligibility rules may change to protect safety, reliability, and costs.
You can watch without signing in, and tips do not require a studio account. Opening our channel or a video on YouTube is optional and does not unlock or increase Service features. YouTube use is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
5. Your one-sentence submissions
You keep any rights you have in text you submit ("Viewer Content"). You give Intrigued.me a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, filter, transform, perform, and display Viewer Content and resulting character responses solely to operate, secure, moderate, troubleshoot, and share the requested experience. This license ends when the content is no longer reasonably needed for those purposes, except for backups, legal records, and content incorporated into a clip you asked us to create or share.
Do not submit confidential information, personal information about another person, account credentials, illegal material, or content you do not have permission to use. We do not intentionally use Viewer Content to train public or general-purpose AI models, and we will not opt in to such training without updating our notice and, where required, obtaining consent.
Generated replies may repeat details from your message. If you create or share a clip or link, other people may see or copy it. Please review the result and remove personal details before sharing. Our Privacy Notice describes provider processing and retention; a response or link expiring is not the same as erasing every stored copy.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to harm, threaten, harass, exploit, deceive, impersonate, or invade the privacy of another person; evade safety controls or daily limits; inject instructions intended to expose system prompts or secrets; automate submissions; disrupt the Service; scrape protected assets; reverse engineer non-public systems; or violate law or third-party rights. We may reject content, hold a response, suspend features, or block access when reasonably necessary.
7. Our intellectual property
To the extent protected by applicable law, the Service, AwkwardPixels™ and Generally Awkward™ brands, Winston and Asher character designs and personalities, scripts, voices, animation cells, rigs, outfits, artwork, stage designs, software, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Intrigued.me. We do not claim exclusive copyright in purely AI-generated material where the law does not recognize it, or ownership of third-party reporting, trademarks, or other third-party materials. No ownership transfers merely because a file is delivered to your browser or appears in a public repository.
Except for the social-sharing permission below, you may not extract, sell, sublicense, merchandise, mint, republish as a competing channel, remove branding from, create confusingly similar characters from, clone voices from, or use our materials for facial recognition, model training, fine-tuning, embeddings, datasets, or synthetic-character systems without written permission.
These restrictions do not override a separate open-source or third-party license, or rights that applicable law does not permit us to restrict. Linking to a news source does not grant a license to republish that publisher's article or images. For a correction or rights complaint, contact us with the page or asset URL and an explanation of the issue. We do not claim registration as a statutory copyright agent through this notice.
8. Social-sharing permission
We grant you a revocable, nonexclusive permission to post unaltered AwkwardPixels clips created with the Service's built-in sharing or recording views on your personal social accounts. You may resize the clip for a platform, add accessibility captions, and add your own honest commentary. Keep the AwkwardPixels branding visible and, where practical, link to awkwardpixels.studio.
This permission is for noncommercial social sharing only. It does not cover paid advertising, sponsorships implying our endorsement, merchandise, standalone asset packs, paid compilations, political campaigning, hateful or deceptive contexts, or any AI/model use.
9. Token tips, payments, and refunds
Token tips are optional, one-time payments to support development. "Token" is part of the tip jar's name: you do not receive currency, cryptocurrency, a stored balance, an investment, an ownership interest, or a charitable donation receipt. The jar offers $2, $4, $6, and $10 presets and an Other amount option from $2 to $100 USD, in whole cents. There is no recurring subscription or automatic repeat payment. You approve the payment through PayPal, which handles payment credentials and applies its own eligibility, fees, and currency-conversion terms.
No studio sign-in is needed to tip. Guest tips do not unlock messages and cannot be transferred to an account by signing in later. For an eligible account-backed tip, the current daily allowance can rise to three total messages when messaging is available; repeated tips do not stack this benefit. A tip does not guarantee a response, feature, or uninterrupted service.
14-day refund policy: You may request a full refund of a completed tip within 14 calendar days after payment completion by emailing legal@intrigued.me with the order or transaction identifier, payment date, and amount. Refund requests are reviewed manually and the payment must be verified. Do not send passwords, full card numbers, payment login details, or your browser's guest payment key. We return approved refunds through the original payment provider and payment method; the provider or your bank controls when the funds appear. We do not charge an administrative refund fee. You do not need to show that a bonus message was unused.
This voluntary policy does not limit mandatory cancellation or refund rights, rights concerning unauthorized or incorrectly processed payments, or the payment provider's dispute procedures. A cancelled checkout is not a completed tip. If the payment outcome is unclear, contact us or the payment provider before starting another payment.
Affiliate links
Some clearly identified links may be sponsored or affiliate links. If you purchase through one, Intrigued.me may receive compensation. The provider sets its own prices and purchase terms. Affiliate links are identified near the link, for example with "Paid link".
10. Third-party services
The Service may rely on or link to Microsoft Azure, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Google, PayPal, YouTube, news publishers, and other services. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We do not control third-party availability, content, or policies.
11. Availability and changes
The Service is experimental and may change, fail over to prerecorded material, pause interactive features, or be discontinued. We may update these Terms by posting a revised date. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law. We will provide notice of material changes and obtain additional consent where required; posting a new notice alone does not replace consent where the law requires it. Changes do not remove accrued refund or mandatory consumer rights.
12. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of accuracy, uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, noninfringement, or error-free AI output. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so these limits may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Intrigued.me and its members, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us through the Service during the twelve months before the claim or US $100. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
14. Disputes
Intrigued.me, LLC is based in Colorado, United States. Colorado law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. You are welcome to contact us to seek an informal resolution, but doing so is not a prerequisite that waives a deadline, a payment-provider dispute, or a mandatory right to a regulator or court. Nothing here imposes mandatory arbitration or waives mandatory consumer rights in your place of residence.
